Better Late Than Never

I am taking a break from celebrating the Umpteenth-Annual Taking Down of the Christmas Tree. This year is especially exciting because it also marks the Third Annual Removal-of-Dental-Floss-from-the-Wall-to-Keep-the-Tree-from-Falling-Over AND ... the First Annual What-To-Do-With-The-Tree-Now-That-I-Have-Thrown-Out-The-Box?!!! I can hardly contain my excitement. Actually, it's been a low-key affair, attended only by me and my ever-present cup of tea.

I called my Dad. He suggested garbage bags, or the creation of a new box from other boxes, but lovingly supported my idea of wrapping the tree in a sheet and hoping it survives until next year. Storing an un-boxed, wrapped Christmas tree will be another matter altogether.

In other news... I made it to the gym. Hooray! Many people still recognized me. I actually have the Tooth Fairy to thank for getting me out of bed. Jonathan lost a tooth yesterday, and I realized at 5:00am that I didn't recall hearing the Tooth Fairy make her requisite visit during the night. So... unable to sleep with that on my conscience, I got up, rummaged through Steve's coat pocket for some change, retrieved the tooth and went to the gym.

Jonathan brought his toonie to the table this morning, and Elizabeth heard, with much fascination (not having yet lost a tooth), all about how the Tooth Fairy works. It made for interesting breakfast discussion.

Well, off to find an old sheet, and back to my tree.
