Well, it's still the eve of my son's eighth birthday... I have been planning to start this blog all week, and decided that no matter what, I would start it tonight. Somehow, catching the hamster (for the umpteenth time) seemed to take priority. Peanut is secure in her cage and here I am.
Yes, Jonathan is going to be eight tomorrow. Eight years ago tonight I knew that the next day I was going to be induced and I had called my dear friend, Kara, to see if she would mind if I named my baby the exact same name as her daughter, should I have a girl. Lydia Anne. That's what Jonathan would have been called. But... we got our sweet baby boy and the next two girls were named Anna and Elizabeth. No Lydia after all!
What a week we were in the midst of! My granny had passed away on the Sunday before, minutes after I had left her room to go back to church. Jonathan would be born on the Wednesday night, we had the funeral 39 hours later on the Friday morning. Then we switched gears again and had a birthday party for Rebekah who was about to turn one on Monday. What a week. I was so proud of my Mom. She was at every event.
So, today, January 9th, 2009, I thought I would begin to write about our lives. God has brought us through an interesting journey over the last few months and I think things are just going to get more interesting. For now, I'll end by wishing my precious boy a very Happy Birthday tomorrow! I love you so much!
